History

The UCH Sharks are one of the four original British Collegiate American Football League (BCAFL) teams, which began playing in the 1985-1986 season (along with Teeside, Newcastle and Manchester). The Sharks dominated the early BCAFL by winning or sharing the first four BCAFL titles as well as compiling a 23-2-2 record during their first five BCAFL seasons. In 2001, the team changed their name from the Hull Sharks to the UCH Sharks (University and Colleges of Hull), to more accurately represent the compilation of Universities the team represents. The team won BCAFLs 'Team of the Year' award for the 2000-2001 season.
